There are students doing everything right
They attend their classes, complete their assignments, sit for their examinations and hold on to a dream of graduating and building a better future. Yet, behind all of that determination, some are quietly fighting battles that could force them out of school.
Sometimes it is an outstanding fee balance. Sometimes it is accommodation. Sometimes there is not enough for food, learning materials or transport. Sometimes an unexpected situation comes when there is simply nowhere else to turn. What makes it even harder is knowing that the student has the ability to continue, but their circumstances may not give them the chance.
We believe that should matter to all of us.
Today, THE FORGE opens the Student Lifeline Network
A growing community of people who are willing to stand with students in Zambia when they face genuine financial challenges that threaten their education.
We are bringing together students, alumni, professionals, entrepreneurs, businesses, organisations, volunteers and individuals who believe that the future of a young person should not be determined by one difficult season. Some will contribute financially. Others may offer their time, skills, opportunities, connections or simply help us reach someone who can make a difference.
You do not have to have a lot to be part of this
What matters is the willingness to do something. A small contribution, when joined with thousands of others, can become the support that keeps a student's journey moving.

This is about more than raising money. We want to build a community where we look out for one another, where asking for help does not come with shame, and where receiving help is not the end of the story.
We want to see a student who was once supported eventually become the person who stands up for another student.
Transparency, accountability and dignity
We will work to build the network with transparency, accountability and dignity, ensuring that support is responsibly assessed and that the privacy and humanity of every student remain protected.
The students we seek to support are in Zambia, but the network is open to people everywhere who believe in the power of education and the potential of young people.
