Frequently asked questions.
Is Speak & Soar a paid position?
No. Speak & Soar is a volunteer service. There is no payment or allowance. Volunteers join because they want to see learners succeed.
How much time will I need to commit?
A maximum of one hour per school session, plus travel, plus monthly training and planning. Roughly one day per week.
Do I need to be a teacher?
No. Most of our Career Guides are university students, recent graduates and working professionals. Training is provided.
Can I volunteer in my home town?
Yes — that is exactly the model. Career Guides serve the schools and communities they grew up around.
Are there age limits?
Career Guides should be 18 or older. There is no upper limit.
