Wendy Simakoma is a Zambian social entrepreneur, mental health advocate and psychosocial counsellor, best known as the Founder of SHE MOVES Organisation, a youth-led organisation committed to advancing menstrual hygiene and health through education, advocacy, community engagement and sustainable solutions.
Driven by a passion to improve the lives of girls and young women, Wendy has dedicated her work to breaking the stigma surrounding menstruation, tackling period poverty and ensuring that every young woman has access to accurate information, menstrual health resources and supportive environments. Through SHE MOVES, she continues to champion practical and sustainable approaches that restore dignity while creating lasting community impact.
Beyond menstrual health, Wendy is a passionate advocate for mental health and psychosocial well-being. As a psychosocial counsellor, she works to create safe spaces where young people can access guidance, build resilience and find hope while navigating life's challenges.
Her impact extends beyond local communities. Through SHE MOVES, she has led community outreach programmes and collaborated on initiatives that address menstrual health, social inclusion and youth empowerment. Her organisation has also hosted international engagements focused on ending period poverty and promoting sustainable menstrual health solutions across the region.
